Brazen Hussies Movie Night for IWD

By 12/03/2021July 8th, 2021Gender Equality

Thanks to all who attended the film screening of Brazen Hussies to mark International Women’s Day this year. It was a pleasure to be able to gather together and celebrate the milestone achievements in Australian feminism in the last 50 years, and reflect on the journey we still have to go to achieve equality. Part proceeds of the tickets will go to WRISC Family Violence Support, and we thank you for your support.

We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the beautiful Welcome to Country from Deanne Gilson, and thank our wonderful speakers, Alex and Joy from A Pot of Courage, all of whom shared their stories in such an inspiring and thought-provoking way. Beautiful door prizes came from A Pot of Courage and A Tuk.

You can also hear Joy, and other Women’s Health Grampians’ Equality Advocates, speak about their experiences of discrimination and diversity, on our new podcast, Equality for All: Women’s Stories of Equality and Diversity in Regional Victoria. Available here https://anchor.fm/equalityforall or wherever you listen to your podcasts.

In solidarity this International Women’s Day,

Libby Jewson, WRISC and Marianne Hendron, Women’s Health Grampians.
